Intro to Photography Classes

Photography is a skill that you will never regret learning. It will allow you to have creative control to create incredible images.
Those photos that you see that make you wonder how the photographer was able to achieve something so beautiful
they are within your grasp with this class.

I offer three different ways to take the Intro to Photography class in person~
A one day workshop, two half-day workshops, or 4 evening classes over a month (one a week.)

Close-up of a person holding a digital camera with the camera's viewfinder showing a small reflection of trees and sky, with a blurred background of green and white bokeh lights.
Close-up of a hand with black nail polish holding a vintage camera against a blue background.

One Day Workshop

A person holding a Nikon camera with a wide lens, aiming it over a foggy, snow-covered lake with trees in the background, during winter.
A vintage Canon AE-1 film camera with a zoom lens, camera strap, and chain strap lanyard on a white background.
A vintage Canon AE-1 film camera placed on a sandy surface under a pier, with wooden pillars extending into the ocean in the background.

Two Half-Day Classes

Two Saturday classes~9am-12:30pm

Louisiana photo lessons

Person holding a vintage camera with purple and blue lighting in a dark setting.

4 Weekly Lessons

4 Week nights (Monday or Thursday) 6:30pm-8pm

A woman with long brunette hair taking a photo with a Canon camera while sitting on a bridge in an urban area during dusk, with city lights and tall glass buildings in the background.

Class time & price in all three options is the same.
What varies is the time you have to learn and apply each lesson.
No more than six students in any class, so you get more personalized attention.

Three person minimum enrollment is required for any class to happen. Payment is made in full at time of enrollment to reserve your seat. Cancellations can be made up to a week prior to class start with half refunded. If your seat is filled prior to class start, then you would receive a full refund. If teacher has to cancel class for any emergency or weather-related issue then classes will be rescheduled within 90 days and allow for up to three different time options to accommodate students.

You will need to come to class with your digital camera (DSLR), the camera manual (on phone or printed copy), and a tripod.

Prior to class you will need to know how to put your camera in manual mode, and how to adjust the ISO, shutter speed, and aperture. You do not need to know what they do but just where to find the buttons to adjust those on your specific camera model.
